Golf - there is a nine-hole course which is open all year in Gatehouse of Fleet which is the nearest to the cottage but plenty more to choose from in the area.
Biking and Cycling - With quiet country roads and a wealth of routes to discover, travelling by pedal power is a real pleasure. You could bring your own bike or hire one from one of the many hire shops.
Local cycle hire is available from W.M. Law, St Cuthbert St, Kirkcudbright.

Horse Riding - Whether you are a beginner or a more experienced rider the will be something to suit you, the nearest to the cottage are Brighouse Bay Trekking Centre at Borgue

Walking - As well as many varied walks from the door you will be spoiled for choice so however strenuous or straightforward you like your strolls to be then there are plenty to choose from :
Swimming - If you like splashing about in the water or want to get more excercise then there are swimming pools in the area, the nearest is at Auchenlarie Holiday Park

Cally Garden and Nursery is the closest and has a c18th walled garden of 2.7 acres with a labelled plant collection of 3,500 varieties surrounded by the Cally oak woods.
